In recent years, with the gradual development of the concept of urban operation, city brand and city image marketing have become an important part of urban development. Therefore, media monitoring has become an important means to supervise and evaluate the city image, it has even become an important reference for performance evaluation. For this reason, we have also done some work over the years. However, limited by data resources, we feel that we are not doing much progress. In this regard, there are mainly two excellent projects in China. At the school level, it seems that China Media University has done a good job. They have formed a network platform for City Image Monitoring and publishing, when I first saw the website, I was very surprised that many of the ideas we thought were very advanced, or things we always wanted to do, had already been implemented by people, the other is some network information database companies, which have a large number of media monitoring libraries that integrate almost all the important information of newspapers, periodicals, and periodicals into the database, however, the price of such information is also relatively high. Therefore, our actual research lags far behind them, but we have been trying to apply for some subjects. Below are some ideas about the research background and significance:

With the development of the city, the importance of intangible elements, such as urban culture, urban image, and urban soft power, has become increasingly common, the city image plays an increasingly important role in building the city brand, improving the investment environment, and enhancing the competitiveness of the city. For Beijing, which targets world cities, the construction of world city images is more necessary and urgent. Based on the summary of the research on city image, this topic will summarize the theory of city image into three aspects: market theory, information theory, and soft power theory, based on a comprehensive review of these three theories, the information Political Economy process of world cities is proposed. This topic draws on the relevant ideas of communication, puts forward the "Media Monitoring" perspective, and quantifies the image of the world's cities through the evaluation of Beijing in media communication. As a result, the subject proposes an indicator system and model for Beijing's world urban image evaluation based on media monitoring. At the same time, based on the empirical research on the image of Beijing's World Cities using the media monitoring method, this paper puts forward the countermeasures for Beijing to build a world city.

This study has important theoretical significance and application value for understanding Beijing's urban image, further formulating socio-economic development policies and building a world city.

First, the study of this topic is of great theoretical significance to the Information Political Economy Theory of the world's urban development. A city is a collection of enterprises, industrial clusters, and regional economies, but more is a collection of political and economic resources. A city is a representative of interests. The goal of city development is to maximize the welfare in the city. After the advent of the media era, urban political economics has introduced Media adjustment into urban political economics under media adjustment. The media may play a role in the city's political economy, such as enlargement, contraction, distortion, error, and equivalent. The media can also play a role in active and passive communication, sometimes, media can actively manipulate events. This topic uses media monitoring to supplement the traditional political and economic theories of urban image, which has important theoretical significance.

Second, this study has an important empirical significance for the analysis of Beijing's urban image, and is an important strategic choice to break the traps of urban resources, energy, and environment, it is an important driving force for Beijing to break through the bottleneck of economic development and enhance its international influence. The city image is an intangible asset, and the recognition of the value of intangible resources is truly deepened along with the process of social information. As an important resource of the city, image also has a special value, that is, attracting people, finance, and things outside the city. A good city image can enhance the trust and support of the outside world to facilitate investment, tourism, housing, and consumption, it has played a positive role in mitigating the resource, energy, and environmental crisis of the city. As the capital of China, Beijing's city image and international influence are far from enough. One of the constraints is the short board of image. The improvement of Beijing's city image means the improvement of its external image. A good city image will enhance the city's internal and external radiation and attractiveness, thus enhancing the influence of the city.

Third, this study has important policy reference value for Beijing's establishment of the world's cities and the compilation of the 12th Five-Year Plan. At present, there are many academic researches on the conditions for Beijing to become a world city. However, there are few researches on the models, paths, and future development predictions that Beijing should choose when creating a world city. This study will explore Beijing's world urban construction and development model from the perspective of city image, and explore the path model and policy trend of Beijing's urban development and evolution, from the perspective of improving the city image, we provide policy suggestions for the establishment of the 12th Five-Year Plan for Beijing and the construction of world cities.

This research will help to provide policy reference for Beijing's construction of World Cities and the compilation of the 12th Five-Year Plan from the perspective of city image, which has important application value for Beijing's city image building.

The academic research on Beijing's construction of world cities mostly focuses on the condition demonstration and macro description, and lacks the research on the mode and path of creating world cities, this topic will be based on the path model and policy trend of Beijing's urban spatial structure development and evolution, and provide policy suggestions for the compilation of the 12th Five-Year Plan for Beijing and the construction of world cities.

This topic clearly sorts out the relevant theoretical research on the city image. It comes down to the three theories and integrates the theoretical block diagram of the world's city image on this basis. At the same time, using the research method of media monitoring, this paper develops an indicator system for city image evaluation, explores a model for city image evaluation based on media monitoring, and quantitatively analyzes the image of Beijing's cities, it also makes a comparative analysis with other cities in the world to further analyze the influencing factors and Mechanisms of Beijing's urban image, and puts forward the problems worth discussing.
