IP spoofing is an old topic, but many people still haven't figured it out, even some recently published loarunner books.
Which of the following is a common misunderstanding of such a simple function operation procedure:
1. mixed up with generator. Only generator corresponding to multiple IP addresses can be added. (The same generator can use other IP addresses by adding one of its IP addresses to the generator list .)
2. Create multiple vuser execution groups for the same script based on the previous error, and select the same physical generator as different IP addresses for execution. (In fact, in the scenario, unless you need to run multiple different scripts on the generator, you do not need to select different IP addresses multiple times .)
In fact, you only need to remember two elements to use this function:
1. Use IP Wizard to add multiple IP addresses;
2. Enable IP spoofing In the controller.
Note the following three points when using the IP spoofing function:
1. The virtual IP address is multiple IP addresses on the same generator. This allocation process is automatically implemented by the Controller;
2. For the same generator, When you simulate more users than the number of IP addresses, duplicate IP addresses will occur. Otherwise, different IP addresses will be randomly allocated.
3. For the same generator, add one of its IP addresses to generator. You do not need to add different IP addresses multiple times.
If you want to configure this function, you should use the EXPERT mode. For more information, see section 4.3.5 of LoadRunner performance testing practice.
