Name the computer in Linux-Linux Enterprise Application-Linux server application information. For details, refer to the following section. 1) log on to the system as root.

2) edit the/etc/sysconfig/network file.

3) Find the following statement: HOSTNAME = localhost. localdomain
If the user has already assigned a host name or domain name, this line may be different. The HOSTNAME field is the keyword for search.

4) change the word "localhost" to the machine name. For example, if you want to assign a "blue" name to the machine, you need to change this line to the following: HOSTNAME = blue. localdomain

5) save the file and exit. Log out, log on to the system again, and terminate and re-run any program that requires host name information, so that the new host name takes effect. In many cases, the simplest way to solve these problems is to quickly restart the computer.

You can use this method to modify the machine name at any time. However, if other users put their original names in their bookmarks, they will not be able to find the original service unless other users know the new name of the machine. You must forcibly modify the host name list in your DNS service table.
