[Network Security & virus] Internet Explorer helps RealPlayer detect vulnerabilities!

The threat of exploiting Real Player and IE has begun to spread over the network.

The secunia security organization points out that the built-in browser in RealPlayer can open local disk files through RealMedia (. rm) files. This means that a malicious site can load a local HTML file in the file associated with the local disk through a Rewritable RealMedia file.

This defect mainly exists in RealPlayer 10.5 (build 6.0.12.1056). Other versions will also be affected.

There is a way to alleviate this problem. First, avoid opening RealMedia files from untrusted sites or resources, and restrict the automatic opening of similar files by RealPlayer built-in browsers.

I think all we can do so far is to take preventive measures we can do before RealPlayer and IE are revised.
