Next-generation Debian-Lenny code freeze-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. The following is a detailed description. The code for the next version of Debian Linux has been compiled. The new version number is 5.0, and the development code is Lenny. It is expected to be released on January 1, September.

In the next few weeks, Debian will fix 363 detected bugs. Stable versions will be released in September, and the current Etch (4.0) will become an OldStable version. the new version of Debian provides support for IPv6, supports large file systems (LFS) and NFS 4, and supports GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) and Python 2.5, in addition, improvements such as "debmake" are further improved in characteristic installation and software deployment.
