First of all, I declare that I am a newbie at the cainiao level. The solution I write may only apply to my own machine. If I cannot solve everyone's problems, I will leave without making a brick. My Ubuntu is installed on vmware9.0, And I have installed it on vmware8 without sound. After this Reinstallation, I updated the kernel of ubuntu11.10 to 12.04. I used it for learning and didn't listen to songs or videos online. Yesterday I got into my head. I wanted to listen to Douban radio station on ubuntu. It was a tragedy and I found no sound.

Yesterday I got into my head and wanted to listen to Douban radio station on ubuntu. It was a tragedy and I found no sound. I am crazy and have to solve a problem. Otherwise, I will remember that it cannot play sound every time I open ubuntu, and it will be quite uncomfortable. Then I started my tragic journey. I started with google and Baidu. It is useless to try the methods once. The sound card and driver are useless for one night.

The above are purely personal complaints and can be ignored. The solution is as follows:

First, you can check whether the sound in the lower-right corner of the Virtual Machine (small speaker) is connected. If there is no connection, connect. Try again. (I feel like I 've been tossing around for a long time, partly because I don't have a sound connection .)

If there is no sound, enter alsamixer in the terminal. The system will jump out and check whether the first two items indicated by the arrow are 0. If yes, use the arrow to adjust them up and down to make them non-zero, the following options can be set to zero without any impact. Of course, they can be set to non-zero if you are not at ease. Try again.

If not, enter the following information on the terminal:

Vi/etc/modprobe. d/alsa-base.conf

Add the following to the last line:

Options snd-hda-intel model = audo

Note the space. After this change, you need to restart ubuntu and try again to see if there is any sound.

If not, install gnome-alsamixer. This is a method I got from google, but I personally think it is useless (because I set it to a sound in the original settings as mute, and the original settings are still checked as mute, my ubuntu sound has not changed ). However, the situation may be different. If the above method cannot make your ubutnu sound, you can try this method.

That is:

First install and run the following command on the terminal:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-alsamixer

Start gnome-alsamixer and run the following command on the terminal:

Gnome-alsamixer

Then, a picture is displayed, and the option marked as mute is set to sound. Restart ubuntu and try again.

The above is the solution that I can think. I have not installed gnome-alsamixer, but I have changed the first three methods, so there is sound.

Hope to help you.
