One of the solutions for the linux system graphic interface suddenly fails-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. Many of my friends may have encountered this situation. The last linux GUI was still good, and now it's suddenly unavailable.
There are two possible causes (for me ):
A. Your device suddenly loses power, causing some data in the linux system to be damaged.
B. Your "/" partition is full. You can use the df command to view it.
B's problem is easy to solve, but a's problem is relatively complicated.
If you can access the command system, the best solution is to use startx to view the error prompt (do not enter "linux cannot be started" in baidu blindly, if you want to analyze your error information, you can find the error information if you cannot understand it ).
Let me talk about XFree86 of my own redhat9.0. There are countless problems prompted. Let me talk about the problems I encountered today:
Cocould not init font path element unix/: 7100, removing from list!
Fatal server error:
Cocould not open default font 'fixed'
I found a lot of Chinese forums and couldn't solve it, so I had to go to the English forum with my head, I found that the help given by foreign experts in the English forum is unretained and meticulous (maybe that's why our technology can't keep up with others ).
Below reprint these experts discuss the solution to this problem: http://www.debianhelp.org/node/1218
The problem I encountered was that the "fixed" Font was not found when Xwindow was started. This font selects an alias for the font when you installed xwindow. then, enter/etc/X11/XF86Config and find the fontpath line. You can see that it points to unix/: 7100. I still don't know how this path came from, so I tried to change the path and point it to a font. I entered/usr/share/fonts/X11. After running the startx command, the system enters.
But what I do not understand is that I did not find the X11 directory in/usr/share/fonts, but the graphic interface is still running. I still do not understand the reason. (Author: buffer8848)
