Operating system learning Classic Books

Abraham Silberschatz's two books:
1. Concepts of practical operating systems (photocopies)
2. Operating System Concept (version 6)
This author is absolutely top-notch. He is from Bell Labs and is currently a world leader in operating systems. The second and first books of these two books are similar in many aspects. The difference is that the second book focuses more on theory and the first example discusses more. These two books are not very thick, but they are very fluent and belong to the easy-to-read class.

3. Modern Operating System (English version & #8226; 2nd)
Andrew S. Tanenbuam (AST) is an upgraded version of the 4th book. It adds some discussions on new operating systems, and the principle part is slightly enhanced than the fourth one. In my opinion, it is the best book except the first two books.

4. Operating System: design and implementation (version 2) (English version)
This is a well-known book mainly used to analyze minix source code. It is based on the principle, and it should be said that it is partial to practice. Maybe linus's teaching material was this book, which has a great influence, can help you
How to implement a file system or system call. Of course, it is a little simpler than the current operating system. Linux kernel
Hacker can read this book.

5. Operating System: modern viewpoint (new version of Experiment 2) (English version)
Operating Systems: A design-Oriented Approach is generally used, but it is much better than the textbooks copied in China and can be used as supplementary books.

6. Linux kernel source code scenario analysis (Volume 1) Linux kernel source code scenario analysis (Volume 2)

These three books are the most nb Linux Kernel Analysis books. The last two books are about the 2.2 kernel, and the first one is about 2.4.

7. 4.4BSD operating system design and implementation (English photocopy)
Not to mention missing. It was written by several people who wrote bsd in the original berkeley group. It is classic.

8. UNIX operating system design (English version)
: An ancient book on unix design. It should be said that this book has taken effect in the unix world.
The sound is very huge, and many later unix branches are all due to this book. This section mainly describes the unix components.
The algorithm used for implementation, some of which are currently in use. I want to know about unix implementation, but there is no time to deduct it.
Minix or Linux kernel friends can look at it. It takes dozens of hours to read this book, which is definitely worth the money :)

9. Complete Linux kernel Annotation
I think this book is also great. It is based on the Linux 0.11 kernel source code for detailed analysis, detailed explanations in place. Although it is not a "classic", it is still recommended! With concise and clear source code analysis, you can look at the mysteries of the Linux operating system.
