After the RPD file is uploaded, the drama is just getting started! Today, we learn how to make a basic data analysis.

Steps:

1. If biee is installed on the local machine, log on to http: // localhost: 9704/analytics/and click "Create-> analysis" in the top-Right navigation menu"

2. Select the Scott topic area in the RPD file created in the previous section.

3. The following page is displayed. The tree on the left corresponds to the model in the left-most [representation] layer in the RPD file-you can regard it as a "table, double-click the field name of "table" to add it to the "selected columns" area on the right. You can select a few columns for reference first.

4. Switch to the [Result] view. If everything goes well, the system automatically queries the database and displays the following data (Note: Because we set empno, ename, sal and other fields corresponding to employee records are selected. Therefore, the result of sal_sum for each employee's salary summary is actually equal to the Sal field of each employee)

5. For unnecessary fields, there is a downward triangle scissors on the right side of each column. After clicking it, a pop-up menu will be displayed. Select Delete to clear unnecessary fields.

6. For reference, remove the blindly selected fields and retain only deptno, dname, and sal_sum (to make a "salary summary" report based on "Department classification)

7. Switch to the [Result] view again and you will find that sal_sum has been correctly summarized based on the department information.

8. Data is presented in tabular form and looks monotonous. You can refer to the operations in to add more vivid and intuitive charts. Here we add a vertical bar chart.

9. After adding a chart, it looks much more handsome (Note: The bar chart is displayed in Flash)

10. When a report is embedded in another "customer system", the top navigation menu is not required, you can click "display result in dashboard effect" on the toolbar to preview the final running result.

11. This is the final result in the dashboard.

12. biee 11g also added some fancy features to improve the user experience. For details, click "edit" to adjust the chart.

13. For reference, check "show as slider" and drag and drop deptno in "group mode (horizontal axis)" under "area" (position in reference)

14. Click "finish"

15. At this time, a slider is displayed on the top of the chart, and the data source of the slider is the value of deptno. The following figure shows the "salary summary" bar chart of deptno = 20.

16. You can drag the slider to the position of 30. Here, the bar chart will automatically switch to the salary Summary of deptno = 30 (believe me, it works better in actual operation, because in actual operation, the switching effect is animated)

17. Save the fruits of this labor after your satisfaction

18. Name, for example, scott_emp_sal_sum

19. Under the "directory" navigation menu, you can view the saved "scott_emp_sal_sum" and click "open" or "edit" to view or modify it.
