OS X tips for using--show paths on the Finder window title bar

Source: Internet
Author: User

The Finder window displays the name of the current folder or the current mode (for example, AirDrop) by default. If you want to display the path (replace the previously displayed Documents with user/"Current user account name"/documents), open the terminal and run the following command:

Defaults write Com.apple.finder _fxshowposixpathintitle-boot TRUE; Killall Finder

Note that if you browse through the "All my Files" view in the Finder window, you'll see:

/system/library/coreservices/finder/contents/resources/mylibraries/mydocuments.cannedsearch

It points to the location where the all my files feature is stored in the system.

If you want to restore the default, enter the following command:

Defaults delete com.apple.finder-fxshowposixpathintitle; Killall Finder
