Pidgin2.2.1 is compiled successfully in ubuntu.

Then download the required package for compilation:

Sudo apt-get build-dep gaim (about 20 MB)

Decompress the package:

Tar jxvf pidgin-2.2.1.tar.bz2

Go to the decompressed directory and start compiling:

D pidgin-2.2.0

./Configure -- prefix =/usr

No error message. make is prompted.

Make

This phase takes a long time.

After completing the preceding steps, run: sudo make install

After that, you have added a project to the menu, logged on to QQ, logged on to msn, logged on to irc, and logged on to gtalk. No problem. The bird's head is much more friendly.
