PRB: "compute by statements not supported" (compute by statement not supported) exception occurs when the compute by clause is used in SQL Server.

This document references the following Microsoft. NET Framework class library namespace:

• System. Data. sqlclient

Symptom
When you try to provideProgramWhen the compute by clause is used in, the following exception message is received:
An unprocessed "system. invalidoperationexception" exception occurs in system. Data. dll.

Other information: the compute by statement is not supported.
Note: The compute by clause in the SQL Server statement generates a Category summary in the result set.

Cause
This phenomenon is caused by restrictions on SQL Server. NET data providers.

Not all SQL syntax statements are supported by SQL Server. NET data providers.

Solution
To solve this problem, use ADO through COM InterOP or ole db. NET data provider.

Status
This is caused by design.
