Problems arising from file copying from NTFS in Linux-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. Two days ago, both of my mentor's machines were infected with viruses, so I started the data rescue journey with my Linux USB flash drive. In the meantime, the hardships and curves of saving the nation are omitted, saving a few thousand words of hard work and remembering only one problem encountered.
At that time, one of the teachers had no access to machine XP, including the security mode. However, you need to first get the mail system out (Foxmail ). The C drive of the machine is in the NTFS format. Fortunately, my small system has NTFS support (read-only). After successfully copying the entire Foxmail, the work will end. The next day, however, the copied Foxmail was told that it could not be used and an error was always reported. The instructor suspected that the copy was incorrect. Copy it again, but steal a little lazy and use tar to copy the entire Foxmail package. No problems have been verified.
Is it true that a replication error occurs? After the system is reinstalled (copy the Foxmail directory to another FAT32 partition), it will be unavailable again on the original machine, and an error will be reported everywhere that the file cannot be written. Check NTFS for permission control, but notice that all files have read-only attributes. Remove all read-only attributes from the top layer to troubleshoot.
The conclusion is that the read-only attribute is added when the Linux system Copies files from the NTFS file system to other partitions.
