PS making three-dimensional text of the sun exposure

In this Photoshop tutorial, we need to use some of the most basic principles of light and shadow to produce a beautiful and majestic effect.

Before we start this wonderful Photoshop tutorial, here's a simple schematic diagram of how light shines on an object. This is a square object in the middle and a light from the top left. You can see that the light shines on the surface of the object, and it creates a shadow on the other side. Note that the shadow is not a common projection pattern in Photoshop, which makes the object look like it floats on the canvas. We want it to look like a three-dimensional object being fixed on the canvas. Well, let's get started, just like sitting back in the school class ...

First, we have a linear gradient of gray to dark gray on the canvas, in the direction from top left to bottom right, as mentioned above: our light source is in the upper-left corner, so the lighter end of the gradient should be in the upper-left corner.

Second, we type some text, I used a cool font, called "Agency FB", give a very compact, tough feeling, and then fill the font gray-blue, can be "#C2C8D4."

Next, hold down the CTRL key and click the type layer (this will produce the selection), and create a new layer. In the newly generated selection, draw a linear gradient from the lower right corner to the left, with the gradient color #495a79 to transparent. This makes the lower-right part of the letter look more dim.

Set the foreground color to black (you can set it by pressing the "D" shortcut key);

Then hold down the CTRL key while you click the text layer and create a new layer below the text layer. Press the Down and RIGHT arrow keys one at a time, then press Alt+backspace to fill the black, then press the down and RIGHT arrow keys once, and then fill the black again. This step repeats 30 times and moves 1 pixels at a time, so that's why it's important to replace the Fill tool with the shortcut key Alt+backspace.

Also note that when you use the arrow keys, you move the selection instead of the fill layer, so keep it in the marquee tool. When you switch to the Mobile tool, the fill layer, not the selection, will be moved.

Next, deselect the selection and make sure that it is currently in the shadow layer, using Filter/blur/motion blur, and the angle value to fill 45 with a distance of 30 pixels.

Merge all the shadow layers and set the opacity to 40%, then hold down SHIFT and press the down and RIGHT arrow keys so that each time it moves in 10 pixels (in PS, the SHIFT key means 10 pixels per unit). At this point, you'll notice that the blur filter will have a part of the shadow that goes beyond the top and left of the object, and that the soft edges and the tiny eraser tool will be used to erase the shadows of the excess parts carefully (refer to the chart we mentioned in the first step).
