For more information about linux Remote Backup-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application, see the following.
I want to remotely Back Up Files in linux, but there is always an error prompt after I press the command:
Rsync-azv-e ssh/home/wow/dl/root @ FileServer:/home/wow
Rsync:-: unknown option
Rsync error: syntax or usage error (code 1) at main. c (1231) [client = 2.6.8]
I want to back up the local/home/wow/dl file to/home/wow under another computer named FileServer, but I am always prompted that this host syntax or usage is wrong. what about it?
Thanks for the reminder downstairs. I changed the location you mentioned-e to-e, but I still posted something wrong:
[Root @ test home] # rsync-av-e ssh/home/wow/dl FileServer:/home/wow/
Building file list... rsync: link_stat "/home/FileServer:" failed: No such file or directory (2)
Done
Sent 59 bytes converted ed 20 bytes 158.00 bytes/sec
Total size is 0 speedup is 0.00
Rsync error: some files cocould not be transferred (code 23) at main. c (892) [sender = 2.6.8]
I know that the problem has been solved. It is enough to replace the name of the target host with its IP address, but what is the problem? Why is my host name incorrect? I used hostname to check the host name. Why can't I use the host name? What about IP addresses?
