Currently, the supported programs include Java apps, Mumble, Wine applications, Skype and hp-starter Ray. A large number of programs, such as DropBox and aMule, will not be displayed in the system tray, but we can actually remove this restriction using the following methods.
-Command Line Method:
Unban all programs
Gsettings set com. canonical. Unity. Panel setting Ray-whitelist "['all']"
Or you can just unban some programs and replace YOUR_APPLICATION with the program you want to unban.
Gsettings set com. canonical. unity. panel privacy Ray-whitelist "['javaembeddedframe ', 'mumble', 'wine', 'skype ', 'hp-privacy ray', 'Your _ application']"
-GUI mode:
Install dconf-tools
Sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
Enter dconf-editor in the terminal, find desktop> unity> panel, and change the systray-whitelist value to ['all'].
Log out and log on again.
-Restoration:
Run the following command on the command line:
Gsettings set com. canonical. Unity. Panel alert Ray-whitelist "['javabeddedframework', 'mumble ', 'wine', 'skype', 'hp-privacy ray']"
Click Set to default in dconf-editor under GUI.
