We develop Android mostly using the Android simulator that comes with the Eclipse and Android SDK. Of course, Google has already launched its own Android development environment--android Studio, not long ago, Google released Android Studio 1.0, the personal feeling is good to use. Some previous versions of Android studio have been downloaded, but the installation failed because of "network problem" and was deleted. And this time, Android Studio 1.0 after downloading, do not need to re-Internet download things, directly decompression can be used.

I. Download and configuration of Android Studio 1.0.1

First of all we want to download Android Studio 1.0, here about the Java development environment and the installation of the Android SDK is no longer in detail, there are a lot of tutorials on this, will not be able to find some information online. We can download it at Android Studio Chinese website : http://www.android-studio.org/.

If you have previously installed an Android development environment for Eclipse, which means that you have installed the Android SDK on your computer, you can download Android studio without the SDK for a total of more than 200 m. Since I have previously installed the SDK, I downloaded the version without the SDK.

After the download is complete, unzip the package directly to your software installation directory, such as my D:\Program files\android-studio, after extracting it, go to the Bin folder and you will see two executable programs such as:

If your computer is 64-bit run Studio64.exe, otherwise run Studio.exe. For later convenience, we can right-click on the exe file and send it to the desktop shortcut.

If your computer's Java environment and the Android SDK are configured, you can start Android Studio normally after running the specified studio.exe. Start screen as follows:

For the first time, a new project page will appear, and we can create a new project mainactivity and enter for some configuration. At this time, we can first click on Help > Check for update ..., update to the latest version of 1.0.1, the update will not have network problems.

Here I opened is a previous project, I have done some configuration, and the first time you see the different, the following will say how to configure, the interface is as follows:

Android Studio can write code while previewing, and there are a variety of devices to choose from, such as tablets, Android TV, etc. is not very strong AH ~ ~

First Open, the first feeling is that the font is small, the following to start configuration.

1. Adjust font size

We click File > Settings ... Or click the Settings icon on the toolbar,

Open the Settings page and choose from our Android chart:

The first time you open the selected default theme, the font can not be changed, we click Save As, save a copy of the theme, a random name, I use the black theme here, named Blacktheme, a total of two themes, you like which is saved as a copy, on the above to modify. When you're done, select our newly saved theme to modify the font and font size. When the settings are complete, click the Apply app, then click OK to close the Settings page.

Of course, if you want to modify the menu font size, you can follow the settings:

Tick override default fonts by, then set the font size, it is recommended not to change, I feel a bit awkward after the change.

2. Set which version of the controller to use

Android Studio offers a variety of version controllers for everyone to choose from,

Here I choose Git, and of course you have Windows version of Git installed on your computer.

Choose Git in the VCs on the right. Of course you can also choose SVN, depending on your hobby. (There may be an error setting git, because the git repository is not initialized, Android Studio cannot find the Git repository, initialize the Git repository, and then put the item in the specified folder)

Once these settings are set, we'll see the Git menu by clicking on the right-click menu on the file:

Of course, if you're using SVN, there's the SVN menu. In addition to the right-click menu, we can also find it in the VCs menu,

Well, Android Studio first introduced here, Android Studio 1.0 has done a good job, compared to eclipse, is really too strong.

Just after I joined the GIT version controller, after the submission, the file above the icon does not have any changes, can not see which files have been modified, it seems that this is a bug, but does not affect the use.

second, recognize and use the new Android simulator Genymotion

The Android SDK comes with an Android emulator that can be used in the studio1.0, but its own Android simulator interface is ugly, and the boot speed is really not flattering. Today to introduce a new Android simulator--genymotion, known as the fastest Android simulator, of course, refers to the fast start speed and smooth operation. Official address: http://www.genymotion.net/, its homepage, but to register to download. This Android simulator is based on virtual box, with the advantages of fast speed, multiple device types and rich functionality.

Once the registration is complete, we will see the following interface:

We download the free version of the, click on the Download button (although it is gray, but can click, I was deceived the first time), will jump into the download interface.

If you have virtual Box on your computer, you can download the version without VirtualBox, when the download is complete, we click Install,

The VirtualBox installation screen will pop up halfway,

In addition to the custom installation path, the other way to click Next, you can install the complete. After the installation is complete, we can see the following two icons appear on the desktop:

Run Genymotion, first open inside is empty, I have downloaded a device here,

Click the Add button and we can see the various installation versions that can be installed,

It also contains the latest Android 5.0, haha, I have installed an Android 5.0 here, select the one you want to install, click Next, start the installation, and then start the download:

Wait for the download to complete, click Next to complete the installation, and then, we select our download good device, click the Start button, you can see the device started, start screen

Look next to the menu, is not feeling a bit high-end, the atmosphere, on the Grade AH ~ ~ Wait a moment, you will see the device started successfully, do a simple GIF animation, experience the smoothness of operation,

See Android 5.0 is really beautiful ah, haha, below to see the features of this simulator, which support power management, GPS and camera, but also added a power button, we can click on the power button to implement the lock screen.

There is a horizontal screen and vertical screen switch, is to reduce the volume keys under the button, click on the horizontal screen and vertical screen to switch directly,

More about the simulator function, we are slowly found in the use of it ~ ~

third, the integration of Android studio and Genymotion

Let's take a look at how Android studio and Genymotion implement the interlock, open Android Studio, open the Settings page,

Choose to install the plug-in from the disk, and then select the plugin we just downloaded Genymotion-idea-plugin.jar, click Install, you will be prompted to restart after installation. After rebooting, see the toolbar with the following icon:

Click, open to see the device we just installed,

Select, click Start, you can launch the simulator, and then click on the Run button to run the project, the following dialog box will appear:

We select the simulator that has run and click OK. We can see the results of the operation in the simulator:
