Brief introduction:
IIS works great in Windows. But sometimes we need to configure the environment for special Web projects. If we install XAMPP in Windows again, the default XAMPP will break the default settings for IIS. So take a look at how to reset IIS to the default settings. I'm using Windows8 IIS8.
To reset IIS:
Open Control Panel/programs and features
Click "Turn Windows features on or off"
Uncheck the 2 boxes marked in the box to not tick.
Click OK.
Restart your computer.
Continue to open "turn Windows features on or off" as above
Tick the option as marked. Click OK.
Restart your computer.
Open the 'C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc' folder.
Open the Hosts file with Notepad or Notepad .
For example: If there is an IP-related configuration, then delete and save.
If Windows does not allow you to modify or save the Hosts file, you can copy the hosts file to another directory to modify the save, and then replace it.
Disadvantages:
1. I did not delete the IIS Default Web site, I do not know whether you deleted the file. It is not possible to restore the default site after you have deleted it.
2. If you manually configure IP and port for Xmapp, or if you need to re-use Xmapp, then you need to reconfigure it.
3. After performing the above actions, the sites on your previous old IIS will not exist, but you can also find them in their own directory or under the C:\inetpub folder.
This means that only the site is deleted, but the file still exists. ~~~~~~~~~~
