For Ubuntu Linux and Windows systems, after Windows is re-installed, all the files on the hard drive (that is, drive C) of the system are overwritten, regardless of the existence of the startup files of other systems, as a result, the installed Ubuntu 8.04 cannot be started. Fortunately, Ubuntu 8.04 supports wubi installation, that is, it is installed in windows. If your Ubuntu8.04 is installed with wubi, it will be easy to recover.

1. copy the wubidr and wubidr. mbr files on the Ubuntu disk to c.

2. modify the system to hide the boot. ini file. Open it with notepad and add c: \ wubildr. mbr = "Ubuntu" to the end to save and exit.

3. Restart to restore the previous status.
