Set guestos in vmware to use 1280x800 resolution-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. Nowadays, machines tend to use non-standard resolutions. The default resolution I use now is 1280x800. By default, the standard resolution for running windows in vmware is, such as 1024x768, black left and right after full screen, very ugly.
Add the following lines at the end of the configuration file (*. vmx) corresponding to the virtual machine:
Svga. maxWidth = "1280"
Svga. maxHeight = "800"
By default, windows running in the virtual machine runs at a resolution of X. If no other resolution is available, I guess so.
Test environment:
Host OS: Debian SID (kernel 2.6.25)
Vmware: VMWare Server 1.0.6
Guest OS: Windows 2003
I have not tested whether the Guest OS is set to Linux, because I usually use SSH to forward X to the Host OS when I use Linux for guest OS.
