Set up a computer static IP method with the router graphics and text tutorial

This article describes the methods for setting up static IP under Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8 systems, and before setting this up, users need to know their network's default gateway address, DNS server address, which can be viewed on the router.

　　Step one: Get the default gateway and DNS server address

The default gateway address on the computer is the router LAN port address (admin address), which is usually identified on the back of the router, and can also be viewed in the router's admin interface. The two addresses that are common are 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1, and DNS server addresses can be viewed under the running State (System State) under the operating status (Systems status) After the router has dial-up access to the DNS server addresses assigned to broadband operations.

　　Important : If your router's LAN port address is 192.168.1.1, then the IP address on the computer is set within the range of 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.254; If the IP address of the router LAN port is 192.168.0.1, the IP address that can be set on the computer can only be one of the 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.254.

This article takes the Tengda wireless router as an example to demonstrate, Tengda Router LAN port address is 192.168.0.1, the computer's default gateway address is 192.168.0.1, Meuse netmask address is the range of 255.255.255.0,ip addresses in 192.168.0.2--192.168.0.254.

3. Right-click Local Connection Select Properties to select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPV4) and click Properties.

4.
