For more information about how to set up shared folders in VMware and Linux and how to set up the R language environment-Linux Enterprise applications-Linux server applications, see the following. Recently, due to learning requirements, we need to use several statistical software. The first thing to install is the R language, an open-source statistical software. Because I am using an XP system, I want to install a virtual machine to install a dual system. The reason why I don't choose a dual system is that it is uncomfortable. The switchover between the two needs to be restarted.
Install the Virtual Machine. Because there was a V5.0. virtual machine, it was directly installed. I installed a Fedora8 online. To share files between two systems, I know two Methods: Using a USB flash disk or using a shared folder. I tried to mount a USB flash drive for a few times, but I just couldn't mount it. It seems that the f8. but I didn't find it. There is no way to use the second method. To share folders, you must install VMware-tools. So I installed it quickly, but when I installed it to 80%, I reported an error saying that my Linux kernel did not match. It felt weird. Baidu did not find a proper reason. So I asked my roommate, he said that the F7 he had installed had not encountered this problem. Is it because of the system, so I installed F7 again. After the installation, I got stuck in the previous place. Ah, not in the system. After thinking about it, I learned that my VMare version is too low. In version 5.0, Vmware-tools can be installed only when Redhat Linux 9.0 is installed. So I changed VMware6.0 and installed F7. The shared folder is successfully set and easy to use. The R language is installed below, and all the installation files are stored in the shared file. Click Install directly after you view the files in Linux. Because the network cannot be connected to the Internet, the installation file with the rmp suffix cannot be used. Change the installation method. I installed a compressed package file, but there were some errors during the decompression and installation process. What is the problem? Let's take a look at the tutorial on the internet, step by step, why are there still errors. I have been thinking for a long time and don't know why. Later, I suddenly felt that there was a problem with installing the shared folder. So I re-installed the installation file in the folder of the Virtual Machine. Finally, the installation was successful.
The entire process lasted almost two days, and Linux was not difficult, but the compatibility problem of related supporting software was indeed not as good as that of MS. While the MS empire has made too much monopoly profit, we have to mention their outstanding achievements in the unification and compatibility of the OS platform.
The entire process exposes poor hands-on capabilities. I believe that Linux experts like Linhui will soon be able to solve the problem. During the process of helping roommates, they did find that they have a strong ability to locate and solve problems. No wonder you have entered the theoretical lab. Will other labs accept you? After that, you must add more training, be brave in trying, and be diligent in thinking.
