Simple linux installation and mounting description-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. Linux partitions follow the following principles: boot zone, primary partition, and swap partition.
The boot zone is mounted to/boot, and the size can be 100 MB (both set and not set)
The primary partition is 10 GB and mounted to/in the format of ext3;
Swap partition, not mounted (I .e. unsigned), size 1-2 times of physical memory, format: swap.
During installation, the primary partition and swap partition are required.
Install it on the partition mounted as/during installation.
Linux installation can be performed in the logical partition after windows installation, or separately.
For example, if you have installed an XP system in windows and set a primary partition, the other partitions are extended partitions, and three partitions are created in the extended partitions, namely, the DEF disk. we usually choose to install linux in the last partition when installing linux. You can delete it.
In linux, your drive C is regarded as hda1 and the extended partition is hda2. Because your drive DEF is the logical drive in the extended partition, then hda5 is the D Drive and hda6 is the E drive, hda7 is the F disk. If the size of the F disk is large enough, you can delete the f disk in windows and then install it.
You must plan the installation. Both fat32 and ntfs can be read in linux, but ntfs is read-only and cannot be written. If you want to share files with windows, you must store them on a fat-format disk.
For example, if winodws has songs and movies, you can share them with linux on a fat-format disk, you can put things on this disk in linux (the song resources downloaded in linux can be shared with windows, because you can put the file on the fat format disk)
