Solution to Debian error in HPdx2258: Linux Release Technology-Debian information. See the following for details. Try to install Debian (ETCH) on HP dx2258 today.

Because it is installed in the public data center, first you need to install the recovery Card Driver (adding the Overlord card, HP built-in driver installation disk), and for the Debian partition.

For the second start, place the Debian Etch for amd64 installation disk, and an error occurs when detect the cd rom driver in step 3.

The prompt is:

No common CD-ROM drive was detected

The specific cause is unknown. Restart and enter the installation command:

Install generic. all_generic _ ide = 1

Use the IDE driver to solve the problem.
