Last month, a strange thing happened because the email system was transferred to the domino platform.

The whole situation: the intranet mail is normal, and can receive an Internet mail, but the Internet mail is sent, prompting that the sending is successful, but the recipient does not receive it.

Analysis: the mail system consists of two servers.

Domino emails are received by the proxy, that is, internal emails are received after server1. external emails are sent.

According to the above situation, the three points are normal and prove that server1 is not a problem.

Send emails to and from server2 to server1 and server1. When sending emails to Domino, you can use the domino administrator message processing tool to check mailbox, locate the emails that cannot be sent, and open the emails, you can see the official error message (Sorry, I forgot what it was)

In addition, the Domino Mail System can provide mail tracking to track the mail status.

When we find the email in mailbox, we can confirm that the email was not sent.

Google has been prompted by the error for a long time. In the most depressing cases, there are almost no sites that provide absolutely correct answers. A foreigner site has the correct answer, but unfortunately it needs money.

At that time, the only valid information collected by Google was that the DNS encountered an error.

Check the IP Address Configuration of the server to confirm that there is no problem, but what about the problem?

Again, Google prompts the problem of dual NICs. Because Domino does not recognize dual NICs, dual NICS will not recognize DNS. However, we only set IP addresses for one Nic and disabled for the other.

It turns out that Domino is so stupid, as long as there are two NICs, DNS is not recognized.

The solution is simple.

In the notes in the Domino Directory, add a sentence to the INI file: dnsserver = dns ip. For example, a user in Shenzhen: dnsserver = 202.96.134.133, so that Domino can identify the correct DNS.

Digress: notes in the Domino Directory. INI is a very important file, although it is automatically generated by installation. however, there is a lot of content missing, and we will continue to talk about notes later. INI problems.
