1. Su // switch to the superuser
2. Exit // exit from Super User to original user
3. Su username // switch to username user

 

1. Sudo adduser username // Add User username

The following problems occur when I use su to switch to a Super User in Ubuntu:

1. Su: Authentication failure

Solution:

1. $ Sudo passwd root
2. Enter new UNIX password:
3. Retype new UNIX password:
4. Passwd: password updated successfully
