SQL Server solution with variable name as table name

Recently wrote procedure, encountered some problems. I think the question of "Use variable name as table name" is more valuable, write and share with us. Please do not hesitate to enlighten me if you have a good solution.

Scene:

If you are writing procedure, create a table dynamically based on the value of a particular variable (the table name is the value of all or part of a particular variable). For example:

DECLARE @tablename char (10)

If some statement

Set @tablename = ' Test '

You want to create a new table with the value of the variable @tablename as the table name, then you will experience problems using the CREATE TABLE @tablename (test char (8)) statement to execute in SQL Server 2k.



Resolve (Take the example):

Create if the table does not exist

IF not EXISTS (SELECT name from sysobjects

WHERE name = @tablename and type = ' U ')

Begin

set@createtable= ' CREATE table ' + @tablename + ' (myname char (2)) '

EXEC (@createtable)

End
