Enter the BIOS of the motherboard. In "Power Management Setup", there is a "Resume By Alarm" item (started at the preset time ), this option can be used to set the system's daily boot time or a fixed date. It only has two options: Enabled and Disabled. After you select Enabled, you can set the following Date (of month) and Resume Time (hh: mm: ss) items. Data (of month) indicates the system boot date. If 0 is selected, the system is started every day. If 1 ~ is selected ~ The value ranges from 31 to 31, indicating a fixed one-day boot every month. Resume Time (hh: mm: ss) indicates the system boot Time. For example, if we set Date (of month) to 0 and Resume Time (hh: mm: ss) to 08:00:00, the computer will start automatically at every morning.

Keyboard and mouse boot

The use of the keyboard or mouse to boot is also achieved by setting the motherboard BIOS. However, generally, a jumper is used to control the motherboard that supports keyboard and mouse boot. We can set it to Enable by referring to the motherboard manual.


How to enable a keyboard

Enter the BIOS. In the "Power Management Setup" menu, there is a "Power On By Keyboard", which includes "Disabled", "Password" (Password boot) "Hot KEY", "Any KEY", and "keyboard 98. After selecting "Hotkey, we can select the boot key Ctrl + F1 in the following "PS2KB Wakeup from S1-S5" item (the boot key includes Ctrl + F1 to Ctrl + F12, and Power, Wake, and Any key), save and quit, and shut down. Press Ctrl + F1 to see if your computer is started (5 ). Select "Hotkey", and press any key on the keyboard to start up.

To set the Password to boot, select "Password" and press enter directly on it. Enter the Password twice as prompted. At the next boot time, enter the password on the keyboard to start the instance directly. Note that after entering the password, you must press enter to start the motherboard.

Set the mouse to boot

Some motherboard after the keyboard is set to boot, the power switch on the chassis will naturally become invalid, if you do not enter the correct boot password, the system will not start! It is a pity that not all boards are like this. Many boards do not automatically block the Power button after the password is set to start up. You can still start the machine by pressing this button, in this way, the keyboard password will lose its value when it is started. If you do not want others to boot at will, you can open the chassis and unplug the jumper on the "PW Switch (actually power Switch)" on the motherboard, in the future, you can only use the keyboard to start the system.

If you see the "Power On By Mouse" item in the "Power Management Setup" menu, congratulations, you can also set the Mouse to boot. This item usually has three options: "Left Double", "Right Double", and "Disabled, you can use the left mouse button to double-click to wake up, right-click to wake up, and disable the mouse power-on function. After the settings are complete, save and exit. In addition, if you use a USB interface mouse, because the USB controller is different from the PS/2 controller, you may not be able to enable the mouse to boot. In other cases, you can try to upgrade the BIOS because there is a Bug in the BIOS or the motherboard does not support some mouse boot.

Enable Nic

This method is also called WOL ). To wake up a specified computer through the network, you must first know the ID number that identifies the computer. Because the wake-up computer is shut down, there is no IP address or computer name. The only physical address that can identify it is the internal Nic, that is, the MAC address. This address is unique.

The MAC addresses of each network adapter are different (the MAC addresses of the network adapter are obtained by different operating systems. In Windows 98, you can enter "winipcfg" in "run" to open the "IP configuration" window, in the "adapter address" item in the window, A hexadecimal address such as "00-E0-4C-39-93-2D" is the Mac address of the NIC. However, in Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003, enter "ipconfig/all" to display the Mac address of the NIC.
