Summary of access network business operation requirements

However, due to the lack of an effective operating system for grouped access networks, the profits they obtain from the group business often do not match their investment in the group system. Operators are increasingly aware of the decline in ROI during the development of mobile grouping access networks.

The reason is that the mobile grouping access network service is very open. A large number of Grouping services are provided by independent access network service providers, and do not rely on mobile operators, the position of mobile operators in the entire access network business supply chain has been gradually changed from the absolute access network business controller in the Age of circuit domain to the pipeline operator carried by group businesses, and cannot obtain higher additional profits from business innovation.

In order to seize the emerging growth point of the Group access network service, operators put forward higher requirements for the operation of group services, hoping to change the original extensive management model, achieve more refined Access Network Service Control and billing management based on business and User Classification, so as to rationally use network resources and create maximum profits.

Carriers can basically divide access network services into three types, and implement different policies for different types of access network services.

◆ Fully guaranteeing QoS for services that are popular in the network or have great potential for development, and creating greater benefits through tariff policies;

◆ If the system resources consumed are large but the benefits are small (such as P2P services) or conflict with the access network services being operated (such as skype services, the impact will be eliminated through access restrictions, bandwidth restrictions, or tariff restrictions;

◆ Use extensive management methods for other common PS businesses.

By classification, the originally unordered grouping businesses are ordered, and these ordered business packets are controlled in a targeted manner, so that operators can fully explore the value of each bit of the business. To achieve this goal, the operator's group network needs to have effective business identification, comprehensive business statistical analysis, and diversified access network business control capabilities. Figure 2 shows the idea of refined operation for grouping businesses. Business identification mainly involves DPI (Deep Packet Inspect) and DFI (Deep Flow Inspect, the former relies mainly on specific business pattern recognition, while the latter uses the traffic feature model matching technology of the business.

The management architecture of grouped businesses is divided into two layers: bearer/business control layer and bearer network layer. policy decision-making systems are deployed on the control layer to generate specific control and billing rules, on the bearer network layer, two management and control functions are deployed: Built-in on the access network joint points and independently deployed on the IP service edge. There are some differences between the two methods. The former is more suitable for refined management and billing of carrier businesses, while the latter is more suitable for statistical analysis and control of mobile Internet businesses. Both methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. In the era of rapid development of mobile group access network services, only by combining the two methods can operators realize their expectations for refined operation.
