Summary of some important steps for installing dual system on a computer (WIN + linux)

This document describes how to install Windows 7 + Ubuntu on your machine several days ago.

First, my machine's Dell migration 5420 (4 GB memory + GB hard drive, which is mainly written for reference when dividing space for Linux systems in the future)

In addition, some software and hardware required for installing the system:

Hardware: 1.One USB flash disk(The ISO image file of the system can be mounted at least in size, generally at least 4 GB, and about GB in win7)

2. if your computer can still enter the system, you can skip the 2nd items. If your computer cannot enter the system, you need another computer (used as a USB flash drive boot program)

4.Driver genieThe purpose is to back up the driver. I recommend that you use version 2010 (must drop) instead of the latest version 2013, because if the new version is not connected to the Internet, it seems that the driver management cannot be opened (I will provide it in my resource download). In fact, it is best to have the installed driver corresponding to your computer, this is the best. My drive is backed up and restored, and there are still some. For example, what core of Intel's graphics card is still not enough.

Okay. Basically, this is the preparation work. Let's take a look at the specific process below. Since I have not recorded the process of fashion systems, I can use some software now, the specific installation process of the system is no longer illustrated.

Step 1: Use the driver Wizard to back up the driver

Step 2: Use ultraiso to write the system into a USB flash disk and use it as a boot program (this cannot use software such as old peach. In other words, old peach directly covers disk C, restore the system to drive C, while ultraiso must be reactivated as a system.WriteThe Bootstrap program, so the two methods are different. In fact, I have not tried them either. I think so .)

Step 3: The main partition for the computer is the liunx partition. For win7, we can directly put it on the drive C or the first disk, mainly for the LINUX partition. I am used to putting it on the last disk, therefore, we need to first format the last disk and then delete it (this can be done directly in disk management). Then, for example, if my last disk is 140 GB, in Linux, as long as 40 GB is used, I will "Create a volume" on the last disk, then allocate GB, and the remaining 40 Gb will be displayed as green, available (available means that it can also be used as a system for partitioning. Second, it does not mean that we can store things in the 40 Gb when using a computer, after the system is installed, we cannot see the 40 Gb memory outside of disk management.) the approximate figure is as follows:

Step 4: first install the Windows 7 system, shut down, insert the USB flash disk, boot the system, set the boot to a USB flash disk (Dell directly press F12 to directly enter the USB flash disk boot mode, instead of selecting the Boot Mode of the USB flash drive, saving it, And then restarting it.) after entering the Boot Mode of the USB flash drive, the computer will identify the boot program and then start to install the system, the next step is basically the same as what we usually do. We don't have to talk much about it. Just wait for it to be installed.

Step 5: Execute Step 2 again on the computer, but the selected ISO file is the Linux File. Repeat Step 4. Note, during installation, we will choose which disk to install (win7 is also installed, usually on the first disk). Do not make a mistake on which 40 GB disk we want to choose, then Ubuntu installation is almost the next step. A key step in the process is to allocate swap partitions and Root Space. My swap partition (SWAP partition) is 200 MB, this is similar to the space of the boot program, so it does not need to be too large, and then allocate 2 GB (level-1 seems to be boot) for a boot instance, similar to the memory we allocate to the system, other
You don't need to worry about the space. In addition, you can select ext2 when selecting a file system. The installation of other files is basically the same as that of windows.

Step 6: After the installation is complete, we need to configure the option for which system to be selected when entering the window. We need to use the easybcd software. You can use the following images for specific operations:
