Techniques for using FLV streaming media in Flash

The FLV streaming Media format is a new video format, all called flash videos. Flash MX 2004 provides the perfect support, its appearance effectively solves the video file import Flash, makes the exported SWF file bulky, cannot use on the network very good shortcoming. Here's how to use the compact FLV streaming media file.

I. Establishment of FLV streaming media Format file

First, open Flash MX 2004 and create a new flash document. Import the prepared video files in AVI format into the library. The import process prompts you with a total of 2 steps, which are "edit" and "encoding" (see Figure 1).

By default, we select "Import entire Video", click Next, and then finish the import process. Press the "Ctrl+l" key combination to open the library, double-click the AVI file icon you just imported, and open the "Embed Video Properties" interface (Figure 2).

Click Export to generate the FLV format file.

We have successfully converted the video AVI format into FLV format through the above actions. What has changed in this? In the conversion of the default parameter. Makes the 23MB AVI file into a 541KB flv file. Let a big guy "thin" down, this can be easily put on the network to use.

Ii. using FLV streaming media files

Create a new Flash document, press the "CTRL+F7" key combination to open the component window, and drag the Mediaplayback component in media componets into the scene (Figure 3).

With the mouse, select the Mediaplayback component you just dragged, and press the "ALT+F7" key combination to open the Component Inspector interface (Figure 4). The parameters in the component inspector are as follows: You define the type of the playback file as FLV, or you can play the MP3 file; the path to the FLV file is specified in the URL because we put the FLV file and the Flash file in the same directory, so just specify the filename. Automatically play for AutoPlay, control placement and control visibility respectively for the location of the playback panel and whether it is visible.

Once the setup is complete, we can test the effect by pressing the "Ctrl+enter" key combination. Do video images and sounds make you refreshing (see Figure 5)!

This is done with a streaming media player in FLV format. Although it is simple to make, but the function is complete, especially it provides the download progress of the display, you can download while playing. So our site no longer worry about those "big" video files how to put up. Flash MX 2004 supports many video formats into FLV, do it yourself and you will find many new tricks.
