A very important part of our scientific research is the reading of the literature! How do I read a document? What to read and how to read? Combined with my own experience, I think the key here is to let us through this way of learning, learn to understand the author's thoughts, ideas and scientific methods, from which to learn the author of the paper to find problems, ask questions, solve the problem process. An articleacademic papers, can be broadly divided into the following eight parts: thesis title, author name and unit, thesis English abstract, Thesis introduction or introduction, Text: Can be a section or sections, conclusions and acknowledgements, references, appendices.
:)
An academic paper in hand, how to read it? You can generally have the following steps:
(1) Read the topic of the thesis
See if the paper belongs to the area or direction you want to study, and how relevant is the paper to the research you are working on? The topic is generally able to explain everything. In addition, this article belongs to which kind of paper also must have the discrimination, it is the new theory elaboration, still is the new method proposed, has solved a new question and so on.
:)
(2) Look at the author's name and unit
The main topic is whether the author is the authoritative or eminent person in the field, or whether the author's unit is in the leading position in the field of research, etc.
:)
(3) Read the abstract of the paper
In this paper, the author basically summarizes and expounds the form of the work summary. So the abstract is one of the core parts of the thesis. Knowing the summary, you can basically master the whole picture of the thesis.
:)
(4) Read the introduction or introduction to the thesis
The introductory part is generally the place where the author confesses the problem. In this section, the author will make a brief description of the issues to be studied, and will also make a brief description of the work to be done. So from here, you can understand the production and development process of the problem, what the predecessors have done, and how the author thinks about the problem, what the author wants to do, what he wants to solve, and so on.
:)
(5) Skip text, see Conclusions and acknowledgements
The conclusion of the paper is also one of the key. Do you want to see if the paper meets the research goal that the author has expected in the introduction and whether the problem has been solved? What problems or difficulties are left unresolved? And how is the problem solved? Wait a minute.
:)
(6) See references
You can see the author's references to the previous work, citing the years of the previous work published. As you can see, the author is doing research on the basis and extent of the work. If the literature is used more, the year is relatively close, then the general description of the author Master of the field more comprehensive research market, from a certain aspect reflects the author's research work may be to solve the previous unresolved problems, methods and difficulties and so on.
:)
(7) See appendix
It is generally a supplement to the content of the thesis, it is an extension of the content of the thesis. For example, there are some mathematical derivation of the detailed process, some of the results of the experiment and supplementary explanations and so on. This section is only used when you need to know or supplement the article, and you can generally disregard it.
:)
In addition, for general academic papers, you go through the above steps, you can basically complete the reading of the article. Perhaps you will ask: What is the most critical part--the text does not look? In fact, the problem is here, at the beginning of the paper, often is this stuck, always do not pass. For the text, we want to distinguish how this article relates to the direction of your research work. If the degree of association is not large, can not be entangled here, time-consuming.
In fact, each person has their own study and research methods, I hope that the friends of the study and study of the practice of continuous experience, in order to realize the appropriate method.
