The index () method determines string str if a substring of the string or string is found at the end of the start index Beg and end index. This method is the same as the Find () method, except that an exception is thrown if no child toe is found.


The following is the syntax for the index () method:


1 Str.index (str, beg=0 End=len (String))


STR--This option specifies the string to search for.

Beg-This is the start index, which by default is 0.

End--This is the ending index, which is equal to the length of the string by default.

return value

method returns an index if the STR is found, and an exception is thrown if it is not found.


The following example shows the use of the index () method.
