Thinking about the future of Web

On October 16, June 11 this year, rensseler Polytechnic College will hold a joint debate with tetherless World Research constellation to discuss the future of web. Participants will include the web inventor Berners-Lee. All topics will be raised by common users. Currently, the most popular topics include:

Is Semantic Web a dream?

The reason why Internet applications broke out in the late 1990s S was that a person who knew the appropriate technology could create a website through HTML coding or Web Editor, however, the semantic web I know is confusing for non-technical personnel. Is Web language too technical and difficult to popularize? What are the motivations for using semantic Technology in website structures?

Is network-neutral the foundation of democracy?

Berners-Lee once said, "network neutrality is the basis of democratic media." Do you agree?

Multilingual Internet-rising or declining?

The Internet is still dominated by English. As more and more people access the Internet, the importance of other languages is becoming increasingly prominent. How can we overcome the language barriers, can you foresee a translation tool that can help us achieve cross-cultural communication?

Can you imagine a web with no semantics in the future? What is such a web?

If Berners-Lee never had a semantic web thinking, and at the same time, technologies such as RDF/s, Owl, and SPARQL have not developed, what do you think the web development will be like now? What will it do in the future? Is Semantic Web inevitable?

How can we cope with the explosion of user data in social networks?

What are the consequences of a large volume of data produced by MySpace, Facebook social networks, and applications such as Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter that are surrounded by users without effective Semantic Filtering?

Should we control the web?

Berners Lee once said that although he designed the web, the overall development of web is the result of thousands of people doing their best. He has made constant calls for a truly open web. The web needs to represent any thoughts, any materials, or opinions. However, over the years, child pornography, terrorism, and even human rashness can be carried out through the Web, should we control the web?
