Thoughts on management departments

What is the goal of a department and how resources should be arranged are different from different perspectives. Recently, I have been reading the book "goal", and I feel a lot about its effective output. If a department is thinking from the perspective of business operations, how to improve the effective output of the Department is an important indicator.

 

For a company, what is an effective output is a product that meets the market demand. The Department's goal should be to quickly develop products with market demands, speed up product marketing, and increase the product sales quota.

 

How to quickly develop products that demand the market is an important task for the Department. Although the Department is developing products step by step according to the plan at the beginning of the year, these products are only being done, and effective output is not considered, but output is only considered. All products are planned from one perspective, regardless of personnel arrangement and overall planning.

To improve effective output, I personally think we need to pay attention to the following points.

1. classify products into Taurus, star products, question mark products, and skinny dogs. Although the company has already divided these products, those products are from the company's perspective and have not yet been subdivided into products of the Department.

2. Focus on personnel and time schedule based on product categories. Personnel arrangement, rather than the average distribution in the past, a development manager is responsible for a product, with several employees below. It focuses on the arrangement and capability allocation according to the product. The same is true in terms of time schedule. Not all products start with each other, but focuses on time and schedule.

A) for the stable product configuration personnel of the current Taurus, the stability plan should be customized to ensure the product has a pace of development.

B) configuration should be added for Star products. If necessary, multiple development managers can enter the product to ensure rapid product development and quality assurance. At the same time, radical development plans and arrangements can be customized.

C) for the remaining two products, you can make a back-to-end arrangement on the product planning. The release date can be scheduled and configured with the first two types of products.

The planning and resources of the Department can be arranged based on the effective output to reduce the market wait time and unnecessary investment. Another way of thinking is to consider a department, which may lead to a new perspective. The management department is the opinion of the leaders and also gives a new perspective on the department.
