1. EVT, Engineering Validation Test
Is the verification of the engineering prototype, the object is likely to be a large development board, or a lot of block Development Board, the key is to have enough time and samples.
Usually, if it is a new platform, it takes more time and effort, there will be a lot of problems to solve, and even a lot of scenarios to compare, and modify the existing products, this stage will be much simpler, even omitted.
The focus of this phase is to identify as many design issues as possible for early revision or validation of design feasibility. Also check if any specifications are omitted.
Mainly by the research and Development department to carry out.
2. DVT, Design verification Test
At this stage, at least you can see the prototype, the board has reached the target size, or at least can be put into a complete shell.
This stage mainly verifies the integrity of the whole function and the correctness of the design, and can make a conclusion, this product can be taken to production. Because production means more investment, so this will be the last chance to look at the wrong one, you need to consider the design and manufacturing issues all over.
Another goal of this phase is for the product to get the test report.
This phase, by the Research and development department and the Quality Assurance department together to complete, test research and development to produce the results.
3, PVT, Production verification Test
This stage, the object should be designed to complete the product, that is, the design of the validation work can be completed.
This phase will be carried out in strict accordance with the standard process of production of the product, including instruments, testing tools, tooling, etc. need to be in place. The conclusions come from the need to lay the groundwork for mass production, whether the process is too complex, whether the tools are sufficient, etc. design for manufacturering fact considerations.
This is followed by MVT (Mass Verificaiton Test), or the combination with PVT, mainly considering the consistency of the product after batch, and then MP (Mass Production).
Three verification phases for developing new products (EVT/DVT/PVT)
