Transmission will lose configuration after restart or shutdown

Just a few days later, we found that transmission will lose its configuration after it is shut down or restarted, all of which become empty. After the download is completed, the automatic seeding is completed, and all the files that have not been downloaded are gone. You have to re-load the seeds, and those that have not been completed cannot be restored to the original state. Only those that have been completed can be restored.

Search online, everywhere is the same problem, but no answer, there is a claim to solve, http://www.openwrt.org.cn/bbs/viewthread.php? Tid = 1369, but it is the method of using a wireless router as the WRT as the carrier, and it has nothing to do with freenas.

The test is as follows:

Putty connection Console

CD/etc/rc. d

Load a seed in the transmission web interface and close the service normally.

./Transmission stop ---- the shutdown process is slow and takes more than 10 seconds.

./Transmission start ----- start again. Then, in the Web View, the download process is normal and the loaded seed is still in progress.

This operation has been repeated several times and is normal. It indicates that when the service is shut down normally, the unfinished files are processed normally and can be saved properly, so they can be recovered normally.

./Transmission stop

Then restart freenas, and the transmission service starts automatically with the system. Then, you can see on the web that it is all gone.

Read the FreeBSD RC Script instructions (remember to see the front and back pages, it is recommended to see the original English, Google translation of Chinese shit) http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/articles/rc-scripting/rcng-daemon-adv.html

The switch script calls/etc/rc. subr, which defines many routines for calling. The shutdown command and shutdown command are different parameters, and the shutdown command will call/etc/rc. shutdown in this RC. shutdown, it will put/etc/rc. d. All processes loaded by each script (including transmission) are closed in faststop mode. if the process is not completed within the specified time, kill the process immediately. Change the faststop parameter to stop, and disable transmission properly.

However, in the above test, although it is disabled normally, after the restart, the transmission settings are still unavailable. It seems that the setting is lost. You need to study the transmission configuration file.

---------------- Coming soon -----------------------

OK. The answer is finally found because of USB installation. In this case, the dynamic configuration information after transmission is in the memory and is lost after it is restarted. The solution is to specify the hard disk path.

For more information, see here. I updated it to the previous post.
