1. X window input method interface change.
The XIM system has been used in the past. It can be used in combination with input methods such as fcitx to provide excellent support for Chinese Input. However, it seems that this architecture is not perfect, as a result, the input module is directly integrated into the gnome system architecture, and Fecora Core 2 is like this, but the problem arises: Non-gtk programs cannot obtain Chinese input, the Chinese Input Method of the gtk program is only pinyin, which is really uncomfortable. It is better to use the previous architecture. In fact, it is easy to change it. As described below:
(1) Run as root: setup, select System Service, cancel IIim service, and then run:/etc/init. d/IIim stop
(2) Change the value of LNAGUAGE In the first line of the/etc/sysconfig/i18n file to zh_CN. The default value is: zh_CN.UTF-8, which is more or less problematic, for example, if you have recently opened a Chinese file in the project in the Start menu and it is not UTF-8 encoded, you have to check the garbled string because many Chinese characters are encoded as gb2312.
(3) install common input methods, such as fcitx. Restart X Window.
　　
2. the second problem is about Openoffice.org. I heard that its icon is brand new and I opened it. It is true, but the menu is garbled, this is because 'desktop font settings' is selected in its default settings. In this way, if you select tahoma or another English font in gnome, the Chinese characters in the menu in openoffice.org are garbled. The solution is as follows:
(1) Open Openoffice.org and select the bottom item in the last-to-bottom menu.
(2) The 'setting' dialog box is displayed. Of course, garbled characters are displayed. Select the last option of the first option of the Setting option, and then deselect the second check box on the right tab. Do you know what the check box is? * _ ^, And then confirm.
