I have been using Ubuntu for more than a week. It is indeed a good system with a beautiful appearance and excellent kernel, although I have not used it yet. I still don't know how to use it. Let's talk about some precautions for installation.
Installation:
Wubi is a convenient method for installation. You only need to virtualize a file as a disk, and then you can use the dual system smoothly. The installation and uninstallation speed is extremely fast. Today, I tried to unmount it. It took only 3 seconds. If the response was slow, it would be too late.
There are not many things to pay attention to when using wubi for installation. It will never lose files under windows, and it is compatible well with Windows XP and Windows 7.
We recommend that you use a CD to install dual systems. It is best to use the disk tool in Windows to split the hard disk out of a free space for Linux to use, so that the file will not be lost. However, if idle space is handed over to Linux for partitioning, the speed will be very fast. Today is my tragedy. I asked Linux to take 1g from one of my 160g partitions as the swap space when it was installed. The conversion process is long, and it seems as if it is not good. After the conversion, the original disk becomes two partitions, and nothing is in it. Although it may be possible to find it, I gave up. The right to take a long journey of wisdom.
One problem with wubi installation is that after the installation is completed, you cannot select the "grub-PC" update in the update, because the grub of the system is different from that of the two systems, if this update is installed, the system cannot start properly. This is a tragic situation. There are two solutions. Rewrite the partition table in pure dos. It is better to describe it here.
First, there is an Ubuntu ISO, which can be guided by a USB flash disk or a CD. (You can use 10.04 of the less than MB, and a CD will be engraved)
Then go to the system and select trial.
After entering the system, open the terminal and enter:
Sudo apt-Get install lilo
Sudo lilo-M/dev/SDA MBR
To install MBR
Ignore possible error messages
Then it says mxxx Boot Record has been updated
The disc pops up and restarts to enter the system.
I am using this method. It's okay. I don't know whether you know it or not. I 'd like to share it with you first.
In addition, put the original web site. Here is a method that does not use a CD.

It is very convenient to uninstall wubi. You only need to select uninstall under this folder, and it will take three seconds. The dual-system has not been tried. I will study it later.
