If you are a Google Chrome user, you may know Google's "desktop application ". In the Chrome online storeDesktopMultiple applications are found in the category. Unlike conventional Chrome applications running on browsers, these "desktop applications" run independently, just like desktop applications. We will see how to install chrome in the form of a native Ubuntu application.

Install Google Keep on Ubuntu 13.10:

Although Google Keep is used as an example here, you can use the same process to install other applications, such as Any. do or Pocket (found from the above desktop categories ). Of course,You must install Chrome in your system.. It may not work in the Chromium browser.

Step 1:

Create a Chrome tab. Go to the Chrome online store and install Google Keep.

Step 2:

In the new tab,Right-clickGoogle Keep icon and selectCreate shortcuts.

Step 3:

This is actually very simple. You can now find Google Keep in Unity Dash and lock it to launcher. Even if you are not running Chrome, you can simply run Google Keep like other Ubuntu programs.

It's cool, isn't it? Google is also planning to port Google App Launcher to Linux. Soon we will be able to use the Google Now desktop application. Currently, it can only be used on Chrome's dev channel.

Imagine why Google hasn't developed a remote Google Drive client for Linux. Of course, there are some third-party programs, such as SyncDrive, used to synchronize Google Drive, just like Dropbox in Ubuntu, but it would be better if there is an official program.
