Ubuntu upgrade 10.04 tutorial

It seems that everyone is still interested in Ubuntu10.04. After my system upgrade, the updates over the past few days have been relatively stable, and the failure that cannot be restarted on the GUI has been fixed, however, the system's localization is not very good, and the startup speed is not stable, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes even 10 seconds !!! If you want to upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04, you can try the following methods. Note that before upgrading, make sure you are familiar with Linux terminal operations, once an error occurs after the upgrade, you can enter the final stage.

If you want to upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04, you can try the following methods. Note that before upgrading, make sure you are familiar with Linux terminal operations, once an error occurs after the upgrade, you can go to the terminal to fix it. At least I did this.

First open the system update manager, install all updates of 9.10, and then enter:
Sudo gedit/etc/apt/sources. list
Replace all the Karmic sources in the table with Lucid (10.04). We recommend that you use the bone source set up by the bone brothers:

After saving the file, enter:
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Sudo apt-get-f install
The system will check and install the updates. During the upgrade, I downloaded about MB of files, and it took more than one hour to install the updates. In this way, some problems may occur during the upgrade. For example, after the upgrade, the desktop cannot be accessed. If you do the same, enter sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop in the terminal to install the Ubuntu desktop. During the installation and update process, some prompts may be displayed. Press enter to complete the installation.

Last reminder:
If the upgrade is successful, open the system update manager every day to update the system.
If you are a beginner in Linux, I suggest you wait until the official version is released in May.
