Ubuntu10.04 upgrade notes

This upgrade was performed twice. During the 2nd upgrade, we found that the grub Startup Menu had a Chinese "recovery mode ".

Upgrade process

First, download the alternate upgraded CD image from the image. sohu's image is still very fast.

My machine's cpu is amd, So download the amd64 suffix Image

After downloading the disc, mount the disc image

Sudo mount ~ /Ubuntu-10.04-alternate-amd64.iso/media/cdrom

Start upgrade

Cd/media/cdrom

Gksudo "sh/media/cdrom/cdromupgrade"

It took me more than an hour to install and upgrade.

Conclusion:

If it is not an early adopters, do not upgrade it easily. Direct installation is better.
