Ubuntu10.10 cannot access the Internet

1. Uninstall the Ubuntu Network Manager;

2. Manual configuration;

(1) In The sudo vi/etc/network/interfaces terminal, comment out the original two lines in the file:

# Auto lo

# Iface lo inet lookback

Then configure the static IP Address:

Auto eth0
Iface eth0 inet static

Address 192.168.1.110

Netmask 255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.1.1

(2) on the terminal sudo vi/etc/resolv. conf, configure DNS:

# Generated by Network Manager

Nameserver 202.114.64.2

Nameserver 192.168.1.1

3. restart the network service on the terminal sudo/etc/init. d/networking restart (a key step !!!).
