I think Ubuntu's Unity is not easy to use. Then, LinuxMint recently launched the LinuxMint13 (Maya) version, while MGSE and Cinnamon also released the new version, because I have tried it before, I think it is not bad to use it, but I use GNome and MGSE in my current 11.10, but it is still very good. However, I want to use Cinnamon directly after upgrading to Ubuntu12.04.

However, I want to use Cinnamon directly after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, there is no need for GNome Shell.
Cinnamon 1.4 on Ubuntu
I have not upgraded Ubuntu 11.10. I first tested it with the VirtualBox VM. The installation steps are not difficult, but the Ubuntu PPA didn't put Cinnamon in. So there are several more steps. However, it would be much easier if I had to install other LinuxMint software!
First, add the LinuxMint PPA. Therefore, open the/etc/apt/sources. list file to add the following line. After adding the line, store and close it.
Deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/maya main upstream import
Then, execute the following four commands to install Cinnamon!
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install linuxmint-keyring
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install cinnamon-session
I remember that during the previous installation, it seems that Ubuntu will be replaced with LinuxMint, and the new Cinnamon will not be like this! In addition, when using VM, the menu is often invisible, and the new version occasionally exists. However, there are not many opportunities to appear, so it is easy to use! I think if you don't want to use Unity or GNome, you can install Cinnamon to use it!
