After six months of development, tutu.com will be available in April 24 at: http ://

After six months of development, Ubuntu was finally released as scheduled on April 9, April 24. Just as the Ubuntu system wanted to be reinstalled, it immediately went down to experience it, my next is the installation of the ubuntu-8.04-alternate-i386.iso is text installation interface disk, although this does not LiveCD to simple and intuitive, but more flexible, can be very convenient to customize, I choose is hard disk installation, the official website has two files: vmlinux initrd.gz. The address is:

Then load the two files with Grub:

Grub> root (hd0, 6)

Grub> kernel/vmlinuz

Grub> initrd/initrd.gz

Grub> boot

In this way, you can start the Ubuntu installation program. Unexpected situations occur: the installation program is "red-faced", saying that the loading of XX component fails, it used to happen only when the installation failed. Fortunately, after I confirmed the selection, I continued to start again. It was a big surprise and I was just a little lucky. It made me laugh and cry, the Ubuntu installation program found the debian installation disk in my sda3, said to use the debian disk to install it for me, and finally figured out a solution, put the ubuntu iso file in sda2 (I think you are still looking for sda3) and finally start to install it.

The text installation of Debian/Ubuntu is flexible. You can easily adjust the priority of debconf to determine the number of options during installation. The default value is "medium ", if you select "low", the installation option is the most, which is very suitable for customizing the system you need. Where should I choose this? It means to start the language selection interface or wait for any interface you select, press the "ESC" key, enter the English menu and select "Change debconf priority". The default value is "dedium" (medium ), you can choose "low" to get more installation options, which makes it easier to customize the system. Of course, I want to see what Ubuntu looks like, I chose the default "medium". Here, I have to say that I have switched from debian, so I am used to debian customization, so I used ubuntu to build blocks from the basic system and never even see the default Ubuntu version. Sorry, so I want to see the most popular release version today, I decided to choose the default installation. During the installation process, I asked if I was downloading language-support. I chose No because I only have a wireless network and there is No network available at this time. Grub was also installed into MBR by me. (I mainly want to see what Ubuntu is by default. I used to manage multiple boot with grldr and maintain the menu myself. lst) and then restart to experience the latest Ubuntu.

After the restart, the ugly black grub default Interface appeared first (it seems that Ubuntu didn't work much) And then I found that my archlinux became other linux. Oh, XP recognized it, when I select Ubuntu, I enter usplash. I feel a little disappointed, because some people have said that I want to use a pop-up screen similar to Fedora in the past (that is, the graphic interface also displays the component startup progress) who knows it looks like 7.10, but it's pretty fast to start (not as good as arch), and soon it's going to reach the name of the gmtr, enter the user name, password, and an orange interface that appears in front of me, by default, there are still a lot of things in English, because there is no Chinese support installed. Hey hey, I haven't used the Ubuntu standard interface, so it's really bad. I 've been searching for a long time, only find the place where the language support is installed (APT used to be used all over the world) and find that only English is available. What's wrong? I think I can't do it anymore. Use APT to install it. I just started the terminal and remembered that I have not updated the source content. No wonder it is only available in English. After the source is updated, there are available Chinese characters in it. We need to download 25 packages. Oh, it's really supported in Chinese. It's also installed in Traditional Chinese. After the installation is complete, log out. Who knows how to log out, the system does not move, dizzy, or restart (it may be accidental, because I tried to log out after the restart, and there was no problem at all ). After the restart, the interface has finally become a Chinese interface. Those WIFI and speedstep are all done by default, and compiz is also configured by default. cool is indeed the most stupid release version, previously, many custom installations had to be manually resolved, and the controversial Ooo was installed by default. After java support was removed, the startup was fast. There is no problem with the office under the default settings. In the United States, FireFox is traditional Chinese. I went to the Internet to download zh_cn.xpi and then installed it. FF became Simplified Chinese. The installation was basically complete. It took about 30 minutes and it was still very fast.

The root account of Ubuntu is disabled by default. You can only use sudo to perform some operations, which sometimes causes some troublesome problems, for example, if I want to test a file under Arch, I have no permission to open the directory, and then use sudo cp to execute the file. In the end, I opened the root account and su went up, it seems that we still need to gradually adapt to the life of usr. (We used to live under root for freedom ). Ubuntu8.04 by default, after 2 GB of refs3 is installed, ext3 will be larger, and the volume is moderate. Of course, most of them are compared to customization, in the past, even the gnome and KDE systems were installed within 1 GB. If you have time to customize them, check whether the dependency ratio of 8.04 is improved.
