On April 9, May 12, the UbuntuKylin community and the Ubuntu Chinese community joined hands with the Beijing GNOME User Group yesterday to hold the first Release Party of Ubuntu/UbuntuKylin 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) in Beijing ).
The event attracted nearly 200 Linux enthusiasts, hardware vendor representatives, and Internet vendor representatives from all over the country, ms. Jane Silber, CEO of Canonical, also attended the event as a Ubuntu enthusiast and gave an impromptu speech.
At the release party, Anthony Wong and Jack Yu from the Ubuntu/UbuntuKylin development team shared their system features, development processes, and subsequent plans, the Technical Director of Zhuhai Kingsoft office software Co., Ltd. was invited to introduce the plans of WPS for Linux and WPS for UbuntuKylin, zhou Ding, author of Ubuntu Tweak, a well-known software in the open-source community in China, and JiaQiang Xu, Project Leader of Seafile, share with you the mental journey of their participation in open-source software development.
This party also set up a lightning Show session to provide a communication platform for Community friends, discuss topics about communities and development, and share various interesting things in technology R & D. This activity was undertaken by the Open Source Software Association of the Chinese Emy of sciences. It is reported that the second release party of Ubuntu/UbuntuKylin 13.04 is scheduled to be held in Changsha on June 1, May 18. At the same time, the development team of UbuntuKylin plans to hold the first online Developer Conference in late May or early June to discuss the special application development of UbuntuKylin 13.10 with Linux developers in China.
