Sudo vi/etc/network/interfaces

# Iface eth0 inet dhcp (default, comment out)
Iface eth0 inet static (set to use static IP)

Address 192.168.0.88 (IP address)

Netmask mask 255.255.0 (mask)

Gateway 192.168.0.1 (gateway)

After saving and exiting:

Sudo/etc/init. d/networking restart (restart the network)
