1. Enable the IMAP service

If you have a QQ account, first apply to activate the QQ mailbox. For example, after logging on to the QQ 2008 software and clicking the "email" button under the QQ account, open the browser to go to the process of activating the QQ mailbox function. After activating QQ mail, we can use an email address such as "QQ account @ qq.com. Because we set the IMAP protocol to communicate with the email server in the Evolution email program, we will enable the IMAP service function of QQ mail. Log on to the QQ mailbox, find the POP3/IMAP/SMTP service under "Settings"> "Account", and click "enable IMAP/SMTP service.

2. Set QQ mail account

Find the "Evolution email" item under "application"> "Internet", and click this item to run the Evolution email program. When you run Evolution for the first time, the "Evolution settings assistant" Wizard window appears. Follow the wizard prompts to add QQ mail accounts. In the "ID" window, enter the user name and email address. The email address uses the QQ email address activated above. In the "receive email" window, select "IMAP" in the "server type" list, and then enter the address of the QQ email server in the "server" input box that appears, for example, imap.qq.com (). In the "send email" window, enter the address of the sending email server. Here, enter the address of the QQ sending email server, such as smtp.qq.com, and check "Server Authentication required. Use the default value for other window operations during email account setting. In this way, with the help of the "Evolution settings assistant" Wizard window, the QQ mail account is set.

In addition to adding an email account through the wizard when running Evolution for the first time, you can also go to the "Evolution Preferences" window ("edit"> "Preferences") after running the Evolution email program ") to add more email accounts.
