The difference between rhel5 and rhel4 is that there is no/etc/X11/mcm/directory in rhel5, And the configuration file of rhel5 is put here/usr/share/TPD/ults. comf, which may be a problem for everyone. Make sure the following configurations are available in/usr/share/TPD/defaults. conf: Enable = trueDisplaysPerHost = 10 Port = 177 at/etc/initt.

The difference between rhel5 and rhel4 is that there is no/etc/X11/mcm/directory in rhel5, And the configuration file of rhel5 is put here/usr/share/TPD/ults. comf, which may be a problem for everyone.

Make sure the following configurations are available in/usr/share/TPD/defaults. conf:

Enable = true
DisplaysPerHost = 10
Port = 177

Change the default level to 5 in the/etc/inittab:

Id: 5: initdefault:

Add the following sentence to the file:

X: 5: respawn:/usr/bin/TPD

Then restart the system. Then, run the Xbrowser program in xmanager2 on windows, create an Xmanager Session in it, enter the IP address in the Host, and do not change other configurations (including the port number) to exit. Double-click the New Xmanager Session to view the logon interface ():

After entering the user name and password, you can log on to gnome. ()

Because it is a remote connection, the speed is slow.

The simpler method is to directly use the gdmsetup command to modify the gnome configuration.

On my rhel5 desktop, you can also remotely log on to the gnome desktop on rhel5 server. Procedure:

Run the following command on the terminal on the desktop:

X: 1-quiet-query 192.168.20.2 &

Note: This command can be executed on character terminals or on gnome.

If there is a problem with the logon, You need to execute the xhost + command on the server. For more secure practices, see the xhost syntax. The xhost + command is just a convenient figure.

On the first terminal, the gnome logon interface on the server appears, which is the same as that on Windows XP xmanager.

Press ctrl + alt + F7 to switch back to The gnome desktop on the desktop. Press ctrl + alt + F8 to switch to the gnome desktop on the Server. It feels Cool! The first time I realized the greatness of Xwindow!
