Use totem to play rmvb in ubuntu

First, delete the default totem front-end of the system, and then install the toem-xine front-end sudoapt-getremovetotemsudoapt-getinstalltotem-xine, and then install the w32codecs decoder package. Due to copyright issues, this package does not exist in the official source. You can download it at http://www.debian-multimedia.org/pool/main/w/w32codecs/after installing it, first Delete the default totem front-end of the system, and then install the toem-xine front

Sudo apt-get remove totem
Sudo apt-get install totem-xine

Then you need to install the w32codecs decoder package. Due to copyright issues, this package is not available in the official source and can be downloaded at the following address:

Http://www.debian-multimedia.org/pool/main/w/w32codecs/

Then install libxine1:

Sudo apt-get install libxine1 *

Finally, edit the xine configuration file.

Gedit ~ /. Xine/catalog. cache

Find [/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.4/xineplug_decode_real_audio.so] and increase decoder_priority to 10.

If this parameter is not modified, totem does not have a sound when playing rmvb.
